Printer Troubleshooting Labs

Printers are one of the most frequent and frustrating sources of IT support requests. These labs simulate realistic printer issues in a domain environment, from setting up and sharing network printers to troubleshooting offline errors and access-denied messages. I created these exercises to build hands-on experience with printer deployment, spooler service recovery, and permission control using Windows Server and client systems. By walking through both setup and failure scenarios, these labs sharpen my ability to diagnose, resolve, and prevent printer problems that commonly disrupt workflows in real environments.

Installing and Sharing a Network Printer Between Server and Client in a Windows Domain

Printer Troubleshooting

Simulated the setup of a network printer by manually installing and sharing a virtual printer from a domain controller and connecting to it from a Windows client.

Resolving an Offline Shared Printer in a Windows Domain

Printer Troubleshooting

Simulated a shared printer going offline by stopping the Print Spooler service on the server, then restored printer functionality and verified client-side connectivity.

Restricting Printer Access Using Security Permissions in a Windows Domain

Printer Troubleshooting

Restricted client access to a shared network printer by modifying security permissions, resulting in a denied print attempt to simulate real-world permission issues.
